School-Based Curriculum
At our school, we use a variety of teaching strategies to help every child grow in confidence and ability with English. A key focus is on building strong reading habits and step by step support in writing, so students can steadily develop their skills.
We have developed a whole school writing programme from Primary 1 to 6, guiding children to express themselves more clearly and creatively as they progress. Alongside this, our reading programmes nurture essential comprehension skills, while also encouraging a genuine love of stories and literature that lasts a lifetime.
To further enhance oral communication, we provide speaking practice through our school-based programme ‘Speak Up’. Audio models have been made easily accessible via QR codes, making practice both convenient and engaging.
Digital Learning
To prepare students for the future, we make good use of online reading and learning platforms. These tools allow children to practise at their own pace—even at home—helping them become more independent learners.
We also bring learning to life with game based platforms, making lessons fun and engaging. In addition, students use digital collaboration tools to share ideas, present their work, and celebrate achievements together. This builds confidence, teamwork, and a lively community spirit.
Immersive Learning
Our two Native speaking English Teachers (NETs) work closely with local teachers to create interactive, authentic lessons. Beyond the classroom, they organise exciting activities throughout the year, such as:
• Festival celebrations with English themes
• Language arts programmes like Drama Club, Puppetry Club, and the English Ambassadors scheme
Through these experiences, students enjoy a language rich environment where they can practise English naturally and confidently—not just in lessons, but in everyday school life.
In short, our curriculum combines structured learning, digital innovation, and immersive experiences to help children thrive in English, while also building joy, confidence, and community.
